The Primary Placements report shows the primary placement and hours for each volunteer. Optionally, you can limit it to display only volunteers without a primary placement to quickly find which of your volunteers do not yet have a primary placement assigned.
Just like with hours, if terminated volunteers served hours prior to termination, they will be reported on the Primary Placements report. You can tailor the report to include just the placements you are looking for with a filter.
1. If you want to include only recently terminated volunteers and active volunteers, you can make a filter for that.
Filter on active volunteers and terminated volunteers within a time range:
Add/Name the filter | Volunteer Limits | Active (non-terminated) as of | date.
It automatically selects Include Terminated Volunteers: Yes
2. If you want to include only active volunteers, you can make a filter for that.
Filter on active volunteers only:
Add/Name the filter | Volunteer Limits | Active (non-terminated) as of today.
Although it automatically selects Include Terminated Volunteers: Yes, just ignore that—the Reporter needs to cycle through those but won’t included them with this filter.
3. If you want to include only active placements, you can make a filter for that.
Filter on active volunteers only:
Add/Name the filter | Placements Limits | Termination Date | Is blank
Although it automatically selects Include Terminated Placements: Yes, just ignore that—the Reporter needs to cycle through those but won’t included them with this filter.
Run the Primary Placements Report
Reports | Volunteer Reports | Primary Placements
You can check the checkbox for “Only volunteers without a primary job” if that is your goal.
You can sort by Volunteer, Job/Client or Station.
When you choose the Sort Order by volunteer, the list will be sorted alphabetically by volunteer name with the primary job indicated among the volunteer’s current job placements.
When you choose the Sort Order by Job/Client, the list will be sorted alphabetically by job name with the primary job indicated among all the volunteers’ current job placements.
When you choose the Sort Order by station, the list will be sorted alphabetically by station name with the primary job indicated among all the volunteers’ current job placements.
Volunteers Without a Primary Placement List
Another quick way to get a list of volunters without a primary placement is to run the version 2 Station Roster Spreadsheet. A ToDoList text file pops open with the names of all the volunteers who do not have a primary placement assigned.
