Keyboard Shortcuts to Copy and Paste
In the Reporter you can copy and paste from single fields by using the keyboard shortcuts. Ctr-C and Ctr-V.
- For some fields you you need to be in Edit mode, others work merely with the record open.
- Highlight the text to copy (use the mouse).
- Ctr-C [control key plus C] to Copy (use the left hand)
- Click in receiving field.
- Ctr-V [control key plus V] to Paste
Alternative Menu Commands to Copy and Paste
- In Edit mode, highlight text to copy.
- Click the Edit menu | Copy
- Click in receiving field.
- Click the Edit menu | Paste to Paste
Copy Name/Address
Copy Name/Address works in Stations, Jobs/Clients, and Volunteers. This example illustrates it in Volunteers.
This enables you to copy an entire name and address of a volunteer at once so that you can then paste it into your word processor. Simply select the volunteer record you want to copy and then select “Copy Name/Address” from the edit menu or the toolbar.
After the name and address are copied into the Windows clipboard, switch to your word processor and paste it into a letter.
Choose Copy Name/Address from the Edit menu
Or use the Copy Name/Address icon from the toolbar.
In Volunteers click Add.
Cancel the Duplicate Check screen.
Copy Record
Copy Record works in Stations, Jobs/Clients, and Volunteers. This example illustrates it in Volunteers.
- Open first volunteer’s record
- Edit | Copy Record
Choose Copy Record from the Edit menu
Alternatively, use the Copy Record icon from the toolbar.
Paste
- In Volunteers click Add.
- Close the duplicate check screen.
- [1.] Select either Paste All Fields to replicate the whole record.
- [2.] or click in the desired field…
- … click Paste One Field.
- Repeat for successive fields.
Select either [1.] Paste All Fields to replicate the whole record. Then you can edit appropriate fields to finish making the new record.
Or [2.] click in the first desired field and then click Paste One Field, repeating by clicking in the next field for however many fields you want to replicate.
